Ethel Knepp

Ethel R. Knepp, age 71 of Charlevoix passed away on September 21, 2017 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Ethel was born on October 21, 1945 the daughter of the late Forrest and Lula (Hickman) Schlappi.

Ethel was a servant for her beloved community, she spent countless hours helping people with all of their accounting needs at any time of day or night. She served Hayes Township for over 41 years.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending it with family who was the greatest joy of her life.

Ethel is survived by her son, Dave Knepp of Charlevoix, grandson, Parker Knepp, brothers, Forrest “Dick” Schlappi of Harbor Springs, Doug (Jean) Schlappi of Harbor Springs, Don (Mary Kay) of Cross Village, Ron Schlappi of Freeport, Tim Schlappi of Petoskey, sisters, Virginia (Bob) Beair of Oden, Rosetta (Joel) Stanley of Petoskey and Diana (Glenn) Peebles of Grand Rapids.

On May 31, 1969 in Charlevoix Ethel married Chip Knepp who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Bob Schlappi and Charlie Schlappi.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes followed by burial at Undine Cemetery in Hayes Township. The family will receive guests for visitation on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. as well as from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
