Esther Murden

Esther Lodema Murden, 92 of Bellaire, died April 22, 2019 at Munson Medical Center.  She was born March 28, 1927 in Pontiac, the daughter of Austin and Lelah Lilly.

Esther was kind and caring.  She volunteered for many years at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility and was also a member of the Clam Lake Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, feeding the birds and working around her yard.

On October 18, 1946 she married H. Dale Murden.  For many years they enjoyed traveling the countryside and camping in their RV. Esther especially loved all the motorcycle trips they took on their Honda Goldwing.

Surviving are her sons Michael of Bellaire, Ronald (Debra) of Traverse City, Donald of Kalkaska, her grandchildren Stephanie, Jason (Shauna), James, Carrie, Todd, Mark (Michelle), several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, and sisters Norma, Pat, and Barb.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4, at 12:30 pm at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating.  Graveside services for both Esther and Dale will follow in Southern Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until the time of service.
