Erwin Short

Erwin A. "Frosty" Short, 91, of Mancelona, passed away on May 14, 2015 at his home. Frosty was born on March 15, 1924, in Crawford, County, the son of Acel and Donna (Johnson) Short. Frosty was a Mancelona resident most of his life and was employed for Wicks AKA Dura Automotive in Mancelona for 38 years. He is survived by 5 children, Linda (Dennis) Sizemore, Carolyn (John) Sehl, Glenda Bailey, Dennis (Joanne) Short and Ron (Clarissa) Short all of Mancelona. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Cres Stephensen, Joyce Nickerson, Doreen Brailey, Marilyn Harmon, 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez Short, a son Ricky Short, 7 siblings, Rose Zeideman, Doris Burden, Clifford Short, Wayne Short, Eunice Buskard , Lenora Nickerson and Francis Kiminski. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Louis Scholl officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
