Erwin A. Luchtman 85, of Elmira, passed away on April 30, 2018 at Munson Hospice House.
Erwin was born on February 23, 1933, in Mt. Clemens, MI, the son of Erwin and Virginia (Mok) Luchtman.
Erwin was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona where he served as a greeter and usher. He loved flower gardening and spending time with his dogs through the years.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by 5 children, Kathy Quandt of Elmira, Deborah (Tony) Fletcher of Shelby Township, Kevin (Patricia) Luchtman of St. Clair Shores, Randy (Lauren) Luchtman of Warren, Lori (Ken) Hicks of St. Clair Shores, many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ann Kelly, Pam Luchtman as well as his beloved dog Jake.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Luchtman, a son Michael Luchtman, 2 brothers, Bill and James Luchtman and his parents.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona with Fr. Chet Collins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
