Eric Jones

Eric W. Jones, 52, of Mancelona, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. Eric was born March 6, 1960 in Charlevoix, the son of William and Patricia (Erickson) Jones. Eric enjoyed hunting, gardening and simply spending time outdoors. He worked in the Oil Field since he graduated from Alba High School and resided in Mancelona most of his life. Most of all his pride and joy was his family along with his three dogs who he absolutely adored. He is survived by his wife Tena Jones for 31 years; mother Pat Jones-Colvin of Traverse City, MI; children Christina (Christopher) Funk of Red Deer, AB, Shannon (Rusty) Schauer of Ithaca, MI and James (Natalie) Mawhorter of Killeen, TX; brother Steven Jones of Kalkaska; sister Joni (Bruce) Knoch of Byron Center, MI; grandchildren Avry, Ethan and Lillian; two nieces and one nephew and two great nieces. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Jones in 1992. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark McCool officiating.
