Elsa Rosenthal, 89, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Petoskey.
She was born in Josefin, Poland on March 3, 1927 to Ferdinand and Martha (Rosenthal) Friske.
She lived in East and West Germany, coming to the United States in 1952. She lived in Gaylord and Racine, Wisconsin. She moved to Ellsworth in 1995 where she married David Rosenthal.
Elsa worked as a nurse aide in nursing homes for many years. She was affiliated for many years with the Church of God.
Surviving are her siblings Frieda Challender of Arizona, Hanna Friske of Minnesota, Robert (Carol) Friske of Wisconsin, Herbert (Joan) Friske of Petoskey, and Erna Cilke of Boyne Falls; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband David and her siblings Richard Friske, Rosa Rosenthal and Karl Friske.
Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Her nephew Richard Friske and her brother Robert Friske will officiate. Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery.
