Eloise Reim

Eloise Reim, 101, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020 at the Heritage Haus, Bellaire, MI.  She was born in Goshen, IN on December 1, 1918, to the late Ray and Reaka Burkholder.


Eloise graduated from Goshen High School in 1936.  On July 1, 1939, she married Ralph R. Reim at a motorcycle racing event.  She worked in the accounting field for 5 years and in the insurance department at the local bank for four years.  She then went on to raise three children.  During that time she enjoyed bowling and was involved in many church activities at the First United Methodist Church.


For retirement Eloise and Ray moved to Fort Myers, FL in 1978 and lived there for 30 years.  While there she enjoyed  golf, bridge, square dancing, boating and crafts. They then moved to Traverse City, MI, to be closer to their daughter and was a resident there for 7 years.  They eventually moved to Bellaire, MI for 2 years to live with their daughter.  She lived at the Heritage Haus for the past two years.


She was predeceased by her loving husband, parents, and three brothers.  Eloise is survived by her three children, Marcia (John) Copeland from Bellaire, MI; Kenneth (Kathy) Reim from St. Augustine, FL and Thomas Reim from South Bend, IN.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.


Eloise was a very caring and easy going person and made many friends along her life path whom she continued to keep in contact with.
