Elizabeth Ann Zinner, age 66, a resident of Kewadin, Michigan, died peacefully, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Eastport Village Care Home. She was born on Dec. 20, 1950 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to the late John and Johanna (Braun) Roskopp.
Elizabeth was extremely fortunate to grow up in a very kind and loving family. Her parents, along with her close brother John Roskopp, provided her with the kind of support and love that is a true blessing. In addition to her amazing immediate family, Elizabeth treasured her special relationships with so many close extended family members.
Elizabeth was employed as an insurance agent at AAA in the greater Detroit area for over thirty-five years making many life-long friendships along the way. “Lizzy” was known for her fun personality, always smiling, laughing and trying to add joy to the life of those around her. She was a selfless person, putting the needs of her family and friends far ahead of her own.
Her greatest love was spending time with her friends and family, especially her only child, Krista. Elizabeth made many sacrifices as a single, working mom, making sure Krista was provided for and was given every opportunity for a wonderful life. Over the past thirteen years she was blessed with countless special memories with her three grandchildren, Josh, Gabe and Ellee Lavely. She loved reading with them, watching movies, playing board games, really anything that would provide her quality time with them. Her love for them along with her entire family and close friends was truly unconditional.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Krista (Larry) Lavely of Kewadin, three grandchildren; Josh, Gabe, and Ellee Lavely and brother John (Jackie) Roskopp of Macomb Twp. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Friday, June 9, at 5 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to Mass.
