Eleanor Fay King, 81, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. She was born on July 23, 1943, in Bellaire, the daughter of Cash and Eunice Kenney.
Eleanor was raised living on a diary farm in East Jordan. She married her first and only love, Robert King, and they raised their family together in Mancelona. She worked for several years at Electrical Design, but settled into the role of a homemaker taking care of the children and their home.
Eleanor loved spending time with her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. She was also known to spoil them with gifts from Amazon on a regular basis. She rarely sat still and was always looking for something to do. She also enjoyed crocheting and taking rides to the Jordan Valley.
Eleanor is survived by four children, Robert (Jackie) King Jr.; Donna King; Debbie (Brian) Clark; and Samantha (Cole) Perry; two siblings, Arlene St. John, and Bobby (Fran) Kenney); fifteen grandchildren, Adam (Paige) King, Kacey (Michael) Skelly, Julia King, Drew (Alexis) King, Mike (Sheryle) Musser, Matt Musser, Kyle Strait, Lindsay Strait, Jason (Kayla) Chapman, Shane Myas, Hayden Russell, Hailey McCombs, Kayce Fillmore, Ashley (Chandler) Cone, and Emily King; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert King Sr.; her son, John King; her grandson, Eric Hamling; her sister, Louise Ollila; and her brother, David Kenney.
Eleanor’s family has chosen to celebrate her life privately at this time.
