Eleanor Girard

Eleanor P. (Hopp) Girard, 85,  passed away on September 29, 2019 in Pontiac.

Eleanor was born on July 19, 1934, the daughter of Eddie and Gertrude (Burgvill) Booza.

Eleanor was a  resident of Central Lake for many years where she raised her family.  Later on, following the passing of her first husband William Hopp, she met and was re-married to Frank Girard and they moved to the Detroit area where she stayed until her passing.  Her and Frank still enjoyed traveling back up to Central Lake to visit with friends and family.

Her family was very important to her and she loved to go on pontoon boat rides as well as camping.

She is survived by her husband Frank Girard of Livonia, 3 children, Gary (Debbie) Hopp , Tim (Cindy) Hopp of both of Central Lake, Mary Eggleston (John Whitson) of Dearborn Heights, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband William Hopp, a son Billy Hopp, sister Carol Ebach as well as her parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 19 also at the funeral home with burial following in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Men’s Basketball program.
