Eleanor Ann Aho, 95, of Harbor Springs, died Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Villa by the Bay in Petoskey. She was born April 26, 1921, in Gaylord to Frank and Mary (Lewandowski) Szymkowiak. She attended the Big Lake School near Gaylord, and later moved to Detroit with her sister to work. There she met her future husband, Martin Aho. After they married, Eleanor and Martin moved to Mt. Pleasant, then to San Jose, Calif. where they lived for many years. They returned to northern Michigan, and lived north of Petoskey. Following Martin's death, Eleanor went to live with her daughter, Cynthia in Harbor Springs.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Martin; son, Wayne; and daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Flynn.
She is survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Norman.
Eleanor was a devout lifelong Christian who looked forward to joining her family in God's Kingdom.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place in the McKinley Cemetery in Pellston.
