Eileen Edwards

Eileen Anona Edwards, 97, of Charlevoix, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the American House in Charlevoix.  She was born on November 11, 1922 in Newaygo, MI, the daughter of Hugh and Chloe (McKinlay) Anderson.

Eileen married Richard Edwards on November 28, 1942 In Kentucky.  Together, they owned and operated the Edwards IGA grocery store in Charlevoix, which is now a Goodwill.  Eileen enjoyed reading, playing bingo, going on walks, travelling, spending time with her family, and socializing with her friends.

Eileen is survived by her son, Larry Edwards of Jenison Beach, FL; her nephew, Jim (Diana) Anderson of St. Joseph, MI; her niece, Barb Anderson of Munith, MI; three grandchildren, Justin Edwards, Branden Kanoff, and Krista Kanoff; and one great grandchild, Ava Berlage.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Edwards; her daughter, Meri Lyn Bennett; her brother, Ellsworth Anderson; and her parents.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the late spring or early summer of 2020.  Details will be announced as they are available.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charlevoix County Animal Shelter, or Hospice of Michigan.
