Edward J. Watrous, 71, of Bellaire, passed away on June 24, 2019 at his home.
Ed was born on June 11, 1948, in Charlevoix, the son of Earl and Bernice (Thomas) Watrous.
Ed grew up in Bellaire where he graduated High School. Then he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he started Eden Building which he owned and operated for many years. He also was employed for the Antrim County Road Commission for 16 years while running the company.
He attended the Lighthouse Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Central Lake and loved hunting as well as going on hunting trips with his family.
On July 22, 1967, in Central Lake, he married Patsy Clark who survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Dionne Droske of Bellaire, Ryan Watrous of Bellaire, Joshua (Katy) Watrous of Bellaire, Tracy (Brian) Zapalski of Bellaire, Nikki (Tom) Adair of Rapid City, 2 brothers, Dave (Edna) Watrous of Bellaire, Denny Watrous of Fl, 2 sisters, Millie Lee of Bellaire, Shirley (Guy) DeWitt of Bellaire, 7 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Bob Watrous, sister Carol Chanda as well as his parents.
Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Community Church in Central Lake with Pastor Janie Beasley officiating.
Burial with military honors, will immediately follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
