Edward J. Szczepanski, 70, of Jordan Township, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2017 at the American House in Charlevoix, surrounded by his family.
Ed was born on September 29, 1946, in Pottsville, PA, the son of Mitchell and Ruthe (Jones) Szczepanski.
Ed attended the Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by two sons, John (Nona) Szczepanski of Charlevoix, Stephen (Anita) Szczepanski of Eaton Rapids, MI, a brother, Jim (Joy) Raber of Boyne City, a sister, Diane (Edward) Scheeler of Mayes Landing, N.J., and 5 grandchildren, Stasch, Jacob, Sawyer, Logan and Maximus.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia in 2007, a sister Kimberly Hoyt, brother Mitchell Jr. and his parents.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor James Jordan will officiate.
Visitation will also be on Sunday from 12:30 until the time of services at 2 p.m.
A memorial luncheon will follow services on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Charlevoix.
Burial will be on Monday, June 26 , 11 a.m. at Brown Cemetery, Jordan township. (corner of Marsh and Stanek Rd)
