Edward Schuckel

Edward C. Schuckel, 84, of Bellaire, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Ed was a permanent resident of Bellaire since 1988 and was a long time member of St. Luke Catholic Church, as well as the Knights of Columbus and the Bellaire Lions Club. Ed was employed by Ford Motor in Dearborn for many years before retiring in 1988. On October 4, 1952, in Detroit, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Renkes who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Helen Schuckel of Bellaire, Ed (Kim) Schuckel of Belleville, Bob (Maryanne) Schuckel of Bellaire, Ray (Pat LaBlanc) Schuckel of Livonia, a granddaughter Kelsey (Tony Balestrieri) Schuckel of Belleville, a brother John (Kathleen) Schuckel of Cincinnati, OH, and a sister Deanna Navarre of West Bloomfield, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Bellaire. Fr. James Gardiner will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
