EDWARD R. MOSER, 75, of Mancelona, died on March 29, 2012 at Sparrow Specialty Hospital in Lansing. Edward was born on February 20, 1937, in Detroit, the son of Frank and Francis (Elszbieciak) Moser. He was a Mancelona resident for the past 43 years and was active in the Mancelona Senior Center. He was a graduate of Harbor Springs High School and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and is a member of the U.S.S. Antietam Remembrance Society. He enjoyed gardening and working outdoors around his house as well as spending time with his dog Ginny who was his close companion for many years. He is survived by 2 children, Frank Moser of Mancelona, Kristine Hoffman of Mason, a step-daughter Brenda (Rodney) Biller of Jackson, 2 sisters, Lillian Frasure of Walkerville, MI., Lottie (Tom) Borczak of Hesperia, MI., 5 grandchildren, Emma and Megan Moser, Kyle Hoffman, Korey and Kenna Totten, a great-grandson Damien Totten, several nieces and nephews and last but not least his close companion Ginny. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 siblings, Virginia Kokielka, Mo Moser and Bob Moser. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 7 at noon at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim County Animal Shelter, 4660 S. M-88, Bellaire, MI., 49615.
