Edith Dean

EDITH LEONE DEAN, 87 of Alden, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born March 1, 1921 to Earl and Wilhelmina (Steiner) Kinnison in Superior, Wisconsin. A resident of Alden most of her life, she was a long time member of the Alden United Methodist Church. Her life long passion was her family. On July 26, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri she married Guy Dean who preceded her in death in 1997. Also preceding her in death were a son Jeffrey in 2007, grandson Scott Charles Dean in 1968, and two brothers Robert and Earl Kinnison. Edith, known as "Onie" to her friends and family, was a special Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her world revolved around all of them. Her spare time was devoted to feeding the extensive wildlife that came to her yard from Coy's Mountain. She will be sorely missed by her family and the animals she cared for. Edith is survived by her children Guy (Sherry) of West Branch, Robert (Linda) of Bellaire, Douglas (Bonnie) of Alden, Lori Weedon of Cadillac, brother Richard Kinnison of Portsmouth, NH, 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Private family services will be held with interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim County Commission on Aging, PO BOX 614, Bellaire, Michigan, 49615.
