Edena Williams

Edena Williams, 84 of Bellaire, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at McLaren Northern Michigan, surrounded by her family.   She was born June 30, 1934 in Detroit the daughter of Edward and Kathryn (Frisbie) Squire Sr.

She moved to Bellaire in 1994 and became an active member of the Church In The Hills.  She was also a member of the Presbyterian Women’s club.   Edena enjoyed crafting, crocheting, playing euchre, swimming and dancing.  She enjoyed many years of bowling, was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved watching the game show network.

On December 6, 1958 in Detroit, she married LaVerne H. Williams who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her daughter Patricia Ann Williams, her brothers Edward III Squire and Gene Squire, and daughter in law Beth Williams.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Sherrie (Jennifer Ellis) Williams of Mancelona and her children Amanda (Brandon) and Bridgette (Dustin), Paul Williams of New Hudson and his children Christina (Jonathan) and Chelsea (Tyler), Michael (Tootie) Williams of South Lyon and their children Justin (Heather), Jared (Jessica) and Natalie (Douglas), Thomas (Kris) Williams of Westland and their son “JT” James Thomas,  7 great grandchildren with one on the way, brother Glen (Ruth) Squire of Ocala, FL,  and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20th, at 1 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor David Ramage officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorial contributions in her memory can be given to the Relay For Life Chain of Lakes, c/o American Cancer Society, 5 Schiber Court Bldg A, Maryville, IL 62062. She was an active Relay for Life participant for many years in Bellaire.  Interment will take place Monday, April 22rd in Parkview Memorial Gardens, Livonia.
