Earl Beckner, Sr

Earl N. Beckner Sr., 75, of Mancelona passed away September 14, 2013 at his home. Earl was born in Trout Lake, MI on June 30, 1938, the son of Roy and Hilda Beckner. He had such a big heart. He was such a giver and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by four sons, Daniel Beckner of Mancelona, Earl Jr (Karen) Beckner of Apopka, FL., Ben (Lisa) Beckner of Ocoee, FL., and Thomas Beckner of Detroit; siblings, Helen Fronsee, Bobby Beckner and Arnie Beckner; grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Daniel, D.J., Sierra, Dylan, Serena, Alicia, Benjamin Jr., Steven, Ashley, Jamie, Shawn, Rachel, Mikayla and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Patrick, Evelyn, Miles, Ellie, Ethan and Jeremy. He was preceded in death by his parents, many brothers and sisters, and grandson, Michael Everett. Services for Earl will be Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 12 noon at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the service at 12 noon. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Alba SportMan's Club. Cremation will take place following the services and his ashes will be interred at Star Township Cemetery at a later date.
