Douglas W. Jones, 52, of Grayling, passed away on December 25, 2014 at Munson Hospice House. Doug was born on December 3, 1962, in Flint, the son of Howard and Janet (Anderson) Jones. Doug resided in Grayling for the past 9 years and was employed by Utility Resource Group. He enjoyed kayaking, snowmobiling, four wheeling, grilling, cooking, camping,and watching wildlife. Most of all he loved his family but also loved to tease. On August 31, 1999, in Burton, MI, he married Debbie J. Clute who survives. Also surviving are his parents Howard and Janet Jones of Mancelona, a sister Anna (Dennis) Diehl of Davison, 3 children, Matthew Jones of Flint, Christopher Jones of Flint, Trevor Jones of Fenton, 4 step-children, Heather Atkins, Daniel Maples, Kasey Trudeau, Stevey Maples, his grandmother Dorothy Anderson-Troyer of Bellaire, 6 grandchildren, Kane, Aurora, Amelia, Shawn, John and Kristen, a niece Erika (Jason) Diehl, 2 great-nieces, Leyna and Ella as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister Tina Jones, his paternal grandparents, Edgar and Virginia Jones and his maternal grandfather Ernest Anderson. A Gathering for friends and family will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 2-5:30 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to his family.
