Douglas Olson

Douglas Robert Olson, 90, of Detroit and Sarasota, FL, passed away on July 11, 2023. He was born on June 16, 1933, the son of Charles and Katherine (Larson) Olson.

Doug spent his working days as an employee of General Motors, where he would eventually retire from. Following retirement, Doug moved to Florida and resided there for over thirty years. When he was not working, you could find him on the golf course or at the bowling alley. He was an avid member of the Eagles and enjoyed trips to the casino.

Surviving Doug in death are his two daughters, Jane Causey of Allen Park, Candace (Fred) Hoeksema of Ellsworth, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife Betty, his parents, three children, Gary, Daniel, and Carol.

Interment will take place at the Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
