Douglas Boss

The world lost a unique and gentle soul when Doug Boss passed away unexpectedly on October 3rd after a brief illness.  Doug was 57 years old, but moved like he was 20.  He was known for his big smile, high energy, and ability to talk a mile a minute.  Doug loved good food, red wine, and lots and lots of strong coffee.  His compassionate spirit and kind heart were unmatched, and never more evident than during the years he spent as an amazing and loving end-of-life caregiver to both his parents.  He had a strong work ethic and was a valued ALP Lighting (Lexalite) employee for over 25 years.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Bev Boss, and his brother, Dave Boss.  He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Sue (Dave) Mitchell, Dan (Sue) Boss, Lisa (Mark) Vind, and Barb (Brian) Myers, as well as his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many cousins.  Family gatherings will never be quite the same without him.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date.  If you knew Doug, you know how he loved his cats, so memorial contributions may be made to the Charlevoix County Humane Society, or to the American Red Cross in recognition of his many years as a faithful blood donor.
