Dorothy “Helen” Hopkins, 86, of Central Lake, passed away on November 21, 2021 at her home.
Helen was born on February 9, 1935, in High Point, NC, the daughter of Bowman and Bertha Bailey McNeil.
She was employed as the Treasury Supervisor for the city of Orlando, FL for 38 years prior to moving to Central Lake in 2001.
Helen was a faithful Christian woman. She was a longtime, dedicated and active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Central Lake. She was a generous giver and shared what she had with many.
Surviving is her sister Janice Kalinich of Bellaire, as well as several extended family members. Helen is also survived by her sister in Christ Sharon Matthews of Ellsworth, who was her devoted and treasured friend.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Irwin Halper, her second husband James Hopkins, a brother Edgar McNeil, her beloved dog Precious and her parents.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church in Central Lake with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at church.
