Dorothy Scarborough

Dorothy L. Scarborough, 76 of Bellaire, died peacefully Mon. May 9, 2011 at home. She was born Dec. 26, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Massett) Mozola. On Aug. 22, 1981, in Dearborn, she married Robert Scarborough. In 1983, they moved to Bellaire and owned and operated the Riverside Marina for 10 years. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and camping. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens and going to the casino with her sisters. She is survived by her 11 children David (Debbie) VanHulle of Kingsley, Robert (Diane) VanHulle of Livonia, Michael (Kim) VanHulle of Canton, Cathy (Al) Odom of Bellaire, Christopher VanHulle of Clinton Twp, Lesa McAllister of Wetmore, Brian Scarborough of Bellaire, Robbie (Jeff) LaRose of Canton, Glenn Scarborough of New Boston, Kathy (David) Juchartz of Belleville, Steven (Michelle) Scarborough of Romulus, 27 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters Delores (Douglas) Brown of Lake Orion, Stephanie Mozola of Grand Haven, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son in law John McAllister, brother in law Rich Scarborough, and sister in law Joyce McKee. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13, at Ten a.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Fr. James Gardiner officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be directed to the Antrim County Commission on Aging or Munson Hospice.
