Dorothy May Russell, 84, of Charlevoix, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan. She was born May 25, 1932, in Charlevoix, to Clarence and Catherine (McClanathan) Feltenbarger. She graduated from Charlevoix High School. On December 23, 1951, she married Jack C. Russell in Charlevoix, and he preceded her in death in 1992 .
Dorothy worked at Paul Reid (Weathershield) in Charlevoix, and G&W Stamping (Dura) in East Jordan. She drove school bus in Charlevoix for fifteen years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix. Dorothy loved to read and take long walks.
She is survived by her children, Carl L. Russell of Bethel, Alaska, Clarence L. Russell of Kentucky, Carol M. (Don) Ward of Charlevoix, Colleen R. Lemons of Ithaca; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry, Bruce, and Earl Feltenbarger; and sisters, Betty Sutton, and Myrna Lang.
Funeral will be 11 AM, Monday, June 6, at the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix, where friends may visit with Dorothy's family beginning at 10 AM. The Reverend David behling will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix.
