Dorothy Heise

Dorothy M. Heise, 91, of Central Lake, passed away on June 10, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. Dorothy was born on December 15, 1924, in Detroit, the daughter of Otto and Ida (Gutzka) Anselm. Dorothy resided in the Detroit area for many years before moving to Central Lake in 1977. She was employed for several years at Second Chance Body Armor, was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire as well as the Central Lake Lioness Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ray and was proud to say she traveled all 50 states. Her and Ray enjoyed many winter months in Gulf Shores, AL. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, was an avid reader, gardening and baseball. On November 20, 1948, in Detroit, she married Raymond Heise who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, Bruce Heise of Blairsville, PA, Douglas (Karlene) Heise of Wyandotte, MI, Russell (Robin) Heise of Tarpon Springs, FL, Kevin (Kim) Heise of Howell, MI, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Baby Heise, a granddaughter Lisa Valentine Heise, a brother Norman and her parents. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire. Pastor Wade Seaver will officiate. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
