Doris Harvey

Doris Ellen Harvey, 63, went home to heaven Wed. Aug. 18th, surrounded by loved ones. She had been fighting cancer. She was a remarkable witness for our Lord, showing unrelenting faith and strength. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bellaire. Doris grew up downstate in New Haven and married Nevada Harvey in 1962. They had many wonderful adventures and moved to Florida in 1972. They had 3 children and she devoted her life to being a wonderful mother and wife, helping to run their family business. After moving to Bellaire permanently about 10 years ago, she worked at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility and Bellaire General Store. Her favorite hobbies were watching "the Young and the Restless", game shows, eating at Red Lobster and going gambling. The most enjoyment came to her when talking to people. She loved her family immensely, second only to her love for Jesus. Doris is survived by her true love, Nevada Harvey, son Uvaldie Harvey, daughter Bonnie (Kenny Sargent) Harvey all of Mancelona, daughter Connie (Keven) Dudd of Gaylord, mother Gladys Burrell of Bellaire, 12 grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Dowker, Kimberly (Mike Scott) Bitting, Heather (Richard) Knowles, Brittany and Angellee Coucke, Mike, Cheyenne and Brad Harvey, Jeramy, April and Nevada Dudd and Cayden Sargent, 6 great grandchildren, sisters Sandra Williamson, Janice Francks, and Susan Fillmore, brother Ron Burrell, and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Loved ones meeting her in heaven are her father Charles Burrell and great grandson Aidan Dudd, along with many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Mon., Aug. 23rd, at Eleven a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Bellaire with Pastor Wade M. Seaver officiating. Interment will follow in Eldred Cemetery, Kearney Twp. The family will receive friends Sat., Aug. 21st, from 6 to 8 pm and Sun. Aug. 22nd, from 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 8 pm at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
