Doris Ann Hamlin

Doris Ann Hamlin, age 83, of Charlevoix, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2024 following a tough battle with illnesses. Doris was the oldest of two daughters of Clark and Veleta (Montgomery) Wright from Vanderbilt.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, and crafting- especially candle making and knitting.

George preceded Doris after 43 years of marriage. She was also  preceded by her parents and a stillborn child.

Doris Ann is survived by her daughters Ann Hamlin (Patrick Ederle) and her son Corey Kellogg, as well as her other daughter Helen (Carson) Mantooth and their children: Maggie, Anna, Lilly, Ellie & Danny.  She is also survived by her sister Barb (Darwin) Swank, Sister-in-Law Louise (Tom) Hamlin, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  A funeral mass will be held Thursday, January 25th at 12 Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix with Fr. Peter Wigton presiding.  

The family suggests donations in her honor be made to the  Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital Foundation, St. Mary's school, or Hospice of Michigan.
