Doris "Dode" Crandall, 81, of Williamsburg, passed away on May 25, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. Dode was born on May 28, 1934 in Elyria, OH, the daughter of Howard and Beatrice (Nevins) Jones. She was an avid reader and enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, boating, camping, playing cards, going to the casino, dogs and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She was a school teacher at the Gladwin Public Schools for several years, then, went on to work in Real Estate. Her and her late husband William spent 14 years wintering in Daytona Beach, Florida. Preceding her in death were her husband William in 2012, a sister Bessie Mae Eary as well as her parents. Surviving are three children, Julie Anne Crandall of Traverse City, Jeffrey William Crandall of Alden, Thomas Lynn (Brenda) Crandall of Williamsburg, a sister, Margie (Art) Fountain of Mt. Pleasant, 3 grandchildren, Kaila Lynn Crandall, Mitchell Adam Crandall, Broc Thomas Crandall, 2 great-grandchildren, Lilliana Rose Crandall, Lincoln William Beagle as well as her beloved dog Roonie. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Peggy Burns will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to A.C.
