Doreen Balon

Doreen Irene Balon, 84 of Bellaire died peacefully, April 21, 2018 at the Heritage Haus in Bellaire.  She was born June 29, 1933 in Carrot River, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Peter and Madeline LeFebre.

On July 18, 1953 in Windsor, Ontario she married George Balon.  Together they made their life in Detroit, then moved north to Bellaire to raise their family.  They owned and operated the Bellaire Bar for 17 years.

Doreen enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook.  Her children were her true joy and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed bowling and golf in her younger years and traveling in her later years of life.

Surviving are her children Dennis (Deborah) Balon of Jacksonville, FL, Donald (Leslie) Balon of Bellaire, Vicki Dellot of Saline, 7 grandchildren Jessica (Stephen) Villerot, Ashleigh (Nolan) Clark, Madalyn Balon, Johnathan (Logan) Balon, Mitchell, Nolan, Mason Dellot, 5 great grandchildren Elayna Mae Clark, Jordyn Balon, Jack Villerot, Caelyn Clark, Blake Villerot.

She was preceded in death by her husband George in 2015, her sister Margaret, her brother Henry and her parents.

Private graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.  Memorial donations can be made to Bellaire High School Athletics, 204 W. Forest Home Ave., Bellaire, MI 49615.
