Donna Lorraine Villerman, 93, of Charlevoix, passed away on March 2, 2024, at Boulder Park Terrace, surrounded by love.
She was a home birth on January 10, 1931, in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Morris and Alma (Trepanier) Rushlow.
Mom worked many professions throughout her life as she and her husband, Ty, lived throughout Michigan. In their retirement years, she and dad had fun with buying and selling antiques.
Mom’s biggest joys in life were her three daughters, Wendy, Suzette, and Michelle. She stayed active in everything they did, and she was always proud of their achievements.
As our families grew, the grandchildren took center stage, which made for many lasting memories along the way. From making Valerie’s first girls Christmas shopping day so special, to finding Ken’s lost hamster and not fainting. And looking for rocks and worms, taking picnics at beaches, and being the room grandma in the classroom for Keith, Bryce, and John. She and grandpa would attend all concerts and sporting events for all.
Mom was rich with lifelong friendships. Wherever she was or went, mom had chats, garage coffee chats and the “Subway” Club Knit/Coffee group. All these friendships were very dear to her.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Suzette (Dennis) Daly of Charlevoix and Michelle (Jerry) Shea of Charlevoix.
Grandchildren Valerie (Doug) Oliver of Chicago, IL, Ken (Katie) Slade of Huntsville, AL, Keith (Lyndsay) Daly of Grand Rapids, MI, Bryce (Courtney) Daly of Jenison, MI, John Shea of Grand Rapids, MI.
Preceding her in death was her husband Kenneth (Ty) Villermain and daughter Wendy Slade.
The family plans a celebration of life for Ken & Donna at a later date.
Donations in honor of Donna can be made to Charlevoix Public Library.
Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
