Donna Griffis

Donna L. Griffis, 72, of Kewadin, died Sat. Nov. 26, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. She was born Jan. 18, 1939, in Alma, the daughter of Robert and Marie (Teachworth) Nisonger. Donna was a member of the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church and the Elk Rapids ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, mushrooming, fishing and baking. On Jan. 19, 1962, in Howard City, she married Manuel Griffis, who survives. Also surviving are her son's Richard (Gina) Griffis of Rockford, and Perry (Marilyn) Griffis of Martinez, CA, her sisters Beverly (John) Lilly of Stanton and Roberta (Gale) Eckert of Six Lakes, and grandchildren Megan and Mitchell Griffis. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters Maxine Mudge, Wilma Kearns, and Mildred Avery. Funeral services will be held Tues. Nov. 29, 2011 at Two p.m. at the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of service. A luncheon will follow.
