Donald Wing

Don graduated to his ultimate goal, to be with Jesus, Saturday, July 20, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. We are sure he is in great conversations with Jesus, Moses, Paul, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as well as many others!!

 He was born June 24, 1936 to Donald and Virginia (Marvin) Wing in Marion, Michigan, where he graduated high school in 1955. On December 22, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart Ruth. They moved to Midland, where he worked for Dow Chemical and acquired 3 patents. In 1971 Don moved his family north to Mancelona where he and Ruth owned and operated the Gamble Store, later becoming Wing’s True Value. They finally retired in 1988.

 Don enjoyed traveling and restoring old cars. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and sharing his love of Jesus with others. Don loved having his family all together and spending time with each and every one of them!

 Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of almost 68 years, Ruth Wing, children Kevin (Connie) Wing of Mancelona, Karmen (Ed) Troyer of Greeneville, TN, Kelly (John) Fisher of Mancelona, brother Wendall (Brenda) Wing of Marion, sister Katherine Goold of AZ, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brother-in-laws, and 1 great granddaughter.

 A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Coldsprings Christian Fellowship Church, at 11 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions can be given to Coldsprings Christian Fellowship, PO BOX 2067, Kalkaska, MI 49646.
