DONALD D. WATROUS, 70, of Bellaire, passed away on Saturday morning, Sept. 25, 2010, surrounded by his family after a very long and courageous 15 year battle with cancer. Donald was a lifelong resident of Bellaire. His family has resided in Antrim County for over 100 years, both his father and mother's side. Donald was a contractor and stone mason most of his life, he owned Grass River Construction and Grass River Cottage Service for many years. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and traveling around the United States. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, camper and hunter. He loved going north to "Camp Foolish" with his grandson Kyle. On Aug. 20, 1960 he married Sally Frasher. He is survived by his wife of 50 years and high school sweetheart, Sally, 2 sons, Jeffrey (Jean Bailey) Watrous , Philip Watrous , a daughter Wendy Frimodig and favorite son-in-law Gregory Frimodig all of Bellaire. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Brian and Bradley Watrous, Kyle and Alexis Frimodig all of Bellaire, great-grandchildren Corrine, Olivia, Sam and Luke Watrous, 2 sisters, Mary Smith and Sandra Blake all of Bellaire and his mother Wilma Yettaw of Eastport, many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. He will be greatly missed by all. Special thanks to all of the wonderful nurses and assistants at Munson that cared for Don during his many hospital stays, and also to hospice nurses Patti and Irene as well as Dr. Harris. Don's family will be celebrating his life on Sat., Oct. 2, 2010 from 2-5 p.m. at the Bellaire Lanes with a Pig Roast. All family and friends are invited to help his family in celebrating his life.
