Donald Beckner

Donald E. Beckner, 70, of Mancelona, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, playing cards, western movies and old country music. He lived in Antrim County for most of his life. Most of all his pride and joy was his family. Donald is survived by three children, Don Beckner of Mancelona, Laurie McKim of Bellaire and James Beckner of Mancelona; five siblings, Earl Beckner of Mancelona, Helen (Wayne) Fronsee of Clio, Arnold Beckner of Mancelona, Robert (Clarice) Beckner of Alba and Charlie (Kathy) Beckner of Elmira; four grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Justin and Bianca; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Abi, Preston, Triston and Trinity; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hilda Beckner; five sisters, Gail Ciswiski, Betty Osborne, Ellen Cykowski, Donna Pruitt and Rosie McCaig; two brothers, Cal Beckner and Harold Beckner. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The burial will follow the service in Star Township Cemetery in Alba. Visitation will take place also on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
