Don Carroll

On Tuesday July 26th, 2011, Don Carroll, loving father, husband, brother and son, passed on. He was born Jan 12th, 1974 in Petoskey MI. Don grew up in Harbor Springs, and attended Holy Childhood Catholic School where he met his future wife Christine (Willis) Carroll. He also attended Harbor Springs High School. Together they had three wonderful children - Waylind Sky 15, Emma Lee 13, and little Ava Marie 5. The kids have very fond memories of the time spent in Siesta Key, Florida where the family lived before finally moving to Elk Rapids. Don had a passion for family, basketball, fishing, biking and was a gifted artist. He loved watching his son play basketball and was proud of Emma's artistic talents. When not working he was always seen around Elk Rapids spending time with his youngest, Ava. Don also took his oldest nephew Westley under his wing and loved him as a son. Don was employed with Staffords Weathervane for over 20 yrs, starting at the age of 14. He is survived by his wife Christine, their three children, sister Hakima "Nikki" Carroll, his brothers Andre Carroll, Ramon Carroll-Santos,and Richard Shenoskey, mother Lynn (Michael) Fulcher, nieces Noakmay and Inez, nephews Armondo, and Tristan, mother in-law Pamela Worthington, sisters Monica (Mike Pelofske) Willis and Rachel Willis, numerous cousins, aunties, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father William Massey. He will be missed by all. Memorial services will be held Saturday July 30th at 1pm at the Kewadin Indian Methodist Church. Family and friends will be gathering 12-1 prior to memorial service. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
