Dolores Alexander, 87, of Mancelona, passed away February 20, 2022 at home. She was born December 23, 1934 in Glouster, Ohio, the daughter of Herbert and Nelly (Mosher) Carrigan.
On December 5, 1953 in Detroit, she married James Alexander. From Detroit they moved to Lake City, then to Kalkaska. Dolores loved to cook and to read mystery books. She ran food pantries and her own homeless shelter for many years.
Surviving her in death is her sister Cindy (Jimmy) Roberts of Plainwell, MI and her 2 daughters Janet Alexander of Mancelona, Betty Medley of Mancelona; 3 grandchildren, April Alexander of Mancelona, James (Burnadette) Lockard of Mancelona, Jenny Taylor of Mancelona, 7 great grandchildren Austin Anderson, Denver Alexander, Kandi Lockard, James Lockard, Summer Lockard, Addyson Lockard, Matthew Taylor, all of Mancelona, 1 Great Great grandchild Gwedolyn Lockard nephew Tony (Jen) Proctor of Duran, MI.
Proceeding Dolores in death are her parents, husband, and siblings.
Memorial Donations can be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Association.
