Dixie Merchant

Dixie Helene Merchant, 85, of Elk Rapids, passed away May 6, 2022 surrounded by her Eastport Village Care Home family where she spent the last five years of her life.  Beating the odds, she was born on April 6, 1937 in Elk Rapids to Doris and Roscoe Merchant, who predeceased her as did three brothers, Roscoe (Emma), Max (Coral), & Jim Merchant.

Surviving is brother John (Betty) Merchant and sister-in-law Nancy Merchant along with many nieces and nephews.

She was a kindhearted soul who never forgot a face.

Dixie’s family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and the staff at the Eastport Village Care Home for her excellent care.

There are no services planned.  She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.
