Dick Sommer

Dick E. Sommer, 84, of East Jordan, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2020 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility.

Dick was born on July 7, 1936, in Niles, MI, the son of John and Evelyn (Mead) Sommer.

He was Pastor of Grace Bible Church in Pleasant Valley and founder and director of Pleasant Valley Bible Camp for over 40 years.

He is survived by his 4 children, Rick Sommer, Nate (Robin) Sommer, Beth Sommer and Tim (Shalene) Sommer all of Central Lake, a brother David (Ruth) Sommer, grandchildren, Kyle Sommer, Dylan (Samantha) Sommer, Sophia Sommer, Gabby and Bahley Glenn, Edson Sommer, and great-grandchildren, Diamond and Nyilee Smith, Max and Kailani Sommer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol in 2018, his parents, and a grandson Damien Smith.

Public visitation and viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Valley Bible Camp, 3606 Wilson Rd, East Jordan, MI,  49727.   Donations will be used for camper scholarships.
