Dennis Peters

Dennis Neil Peters, age 84, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born on August 9, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Dennis was a beacon of light and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dennis graduated from Waterford Township High School in 1958, and his sense of duty led him to serve his country proudly in the Marines, where he earned the rank of Corporal. After his military service, he pursued higher education, earning a communications degree from Lawrence Technological University. He then dedicated 25 years of his career to Michigan Bell, where he formed lasting friendships and was a valued colleague.

Dennis was a man who truly embraced life. He found joy in social activities – golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, and boating. He loved the excitement of waterskiing and playing hockey along with the camaraderie of a good card game. He was a master of card tricks, loving the thrill of entertaining crowds. But above all, he cherished spending time with his loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

For the past 20 years, Dennis enjoyed his retirement in Florida, where he met and married his wife, Maria. Their time together was filled with love. Dennis was the life of every party. His infectious laughter and warm smile drew people to him. He was generous, caring, and had a great sense of humor. He had a gift for storytelling and making everyone feel special.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Maria Arias; his siblings, Roger (Gerry) Peters and Patrick (Patricia) Peters; his brother-in-law, Richard Finkbeiner; his children and step-children: Keith (Teri) Peters, Kelly Korb, Jennifer (Josh) Glass, Patsy Paniaguas Arias, Meybol Paniaguas Arias, Jose Paniaguas Arias, Suyen Paniaguas Arias, and Luis Diego Arias Morales; his grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Gregory (Sarah) Peters, Damian Korb, William, Andrew and Ryan Glass, Sonny and Angelina Rodriguez, Camila and Kevin Arroyo, and Sofia and Sebastian Quesada. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Russell Peters, and his sisters, Sharleen Finkbeiner and Maureen Brown.

A celebration of Dennis's life will be held to honor his memory and the joy he brought to our lives. Details will be announced at a later date.

Dennis's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our memories.
