Dennis Moore

Dennis C. Moore,  62, of Alden, passed away on April 9, 2020 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.

Dennis was born on October 5, 1957, in Pontiac, the son of Karl and Betty (Perry) Moore.

Dennis was raised in Antrim County with many of those years in the Mancelona area.     He was employed in maintenance at Shanty Creek Resort and loved the outdoors.  He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He was a long time volunteer for the Mancelona Fire Department as well as the Township Ambulance Authority.

On April 12, 2008, he married Carol “Sue” Clark who survives.   Also surviving are 7 children, Dennis Jr. (Bridget) Moore of Mancelona, Kasie (Paul) Bubar of West Branch, Jennifer (Robby) Ransom of Mancelona, Amanda Moore of Redford, MI, Ashley Tipton of Alden, Sam (Tiffaney) Johnson of Mancelona, Samantha (Allen) Oyer of Mancelona, 14 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bill (Jan) Moore, and Jack (Mary) Moore both of Central Lake as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  his twin brother David Moore and his mother-in-law Carol Clark.

Memorial services will take place on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Visitation will be from 12:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Burial will immediately follow services at approximately 2:45 p.m. at  Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.  Once the service has ended we will all meet at the cemetery in our own vehicles, there will not be a funeral procession.  Anyone needing to know directions to the cemetery ask any funeral home staff at the funeral home while attending the memorial service.
