Debra L. Hoffman, 54, of East Jordan, formerly of Ellsworth, died at her home on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

She was born July 1, 1963 in Petoskey, Michigan to Charlotte White and William Lyon. She was later adopted by Carl Cruickshank.

Debra graduated from Ellsworth High School and was employed as a nurse assistant at Grandvue Medical Care Facility. She also served on the Banks Township Fire Department in Ellsworth. Debra loved animals, riding horses, gardening, raising flowers and anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild.

Surviving are her significant other Leroy "Jamie" Kessinger; children Jonathon Nachazel and fiancee Angelena of East Jordan and Tara Nachazel of Boyne Falls; fathers William (Florence) Lyon of Palm Coast, Florida and Carl (Diane) Cruickshank of Camp Hill, Alabama; and brother Thomas Cruickshank of Tarpon Springs, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Cruickshank.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth with the Rev. Chris Wallace officiating. Inurnment will be in Ellsworth Cemetery, Banks Township, Michigan.
