David A. Rausch, 80, of Central Lake, passed away on December 11, 2014 at his home. David was born on November 17, 1934 in Richmond, IN, the son of Andrew and Flossie (Money) Rausch. David was an avid reader, he also enjoyed woodcarving, sailing, volunteering at the Central Lake Public Library, going to his sons sporting events and was President of Hoover Yacht Club in Westerville, OH. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He resided in Lancaster, OH, for many years where he was employed by Diamond Power. Upon retirement in 1990, he moved to Torch Lake. He is survived by 4 children, Nicholas Rausch of Traverse City, Pamela (David) Hottenroth of Manhatten, N.Y., Janet (Stephen) Sharritts of Delaware, OH, Russ David (Beth) Rausch of Yorktown, VA, and 4 grandchildren, Emile, Stephanie, Benjamin, and Brennan. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 19 at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Gary Bekkering will officiate.
