David Earl Halladay

David E. Halladay, 80 of Central Lake died January 9, 2024 at McLaren Northern Michigan.  He was born November 26, 1943 in Detroit, the son of Rance and Opal (DeForest) Halladay.

   Dave retired after many years of dedicated service working for East Jordan Iron Works and was a faithful member of Grace Community Church.  He enjoyed hunting, bird feeding, and feeding and watching all wildlife in general.  He was a big Nascar fan and supported many mission trips to Haiti.

   On June 6, 1964 he married Gloria Welch who preceded him in death in February of 2023.  Also preceding him in death are his brother Robert Halladay, sister Tootsie Halladay, and parents.

   Surviving are his children Ronna (Rex) Whetstone of Westland, David Jr (Kimberly) Halladay of Central Lake, Lana (Rick) Poe of Owenton, KY, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters Anna Sidor of FL, Marilyn Barber of Central Lake, Joyce Matkin of AZ, and many nieces and nephews. 

   Funeral services will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Denielle Moes officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of service.  Spring interment will take place in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake.

   Memorial contributions can be given to Good Samaritan, PO BOX 206, Ellsworth, MI 49729, or David Halladay Jr., 7730 Mile Point Dr., Central Lake, MI,  49622, to be used for missions in Haiti.
