David A. Farough, 79, of Mancelona, passed away on March 6, 2016 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. David was born on December 11, 1936, in Detroit, the son of Alvin and Anna (Barkala) Farough. David lived in Royal Oak for many years and was employed as a draftsman prior to moving to Mancelona in 2000. He enjoyed several outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, target shooting with his guns, collecting coins and stamps as well as going to car shows and looking for his favorite car the "Ford Mustang". He also served in the United States Army. He is survived by a brother Jerry Farough of Mancelona, cousins, Anne Marie (Jim) Marcella of Traverse City, Elaine (Dick) Olin of FLA, Richard (Donna) Kilponen of TN, Laurie (Larry) Tessin of AZ, as well as 2 nieces Christine and Becky. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister Cathryn. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
