David Melvin Boyer, 87, formerly of Cadillac and Lake City, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016. He was born April 12, 1929, in Flint, to Clarence and Ethel (Conners) Boyer. He graduated from Flint Central High School, and from General Motors Institute in Flint.
David served in the US Army during the Korean War.
On October 7, 1950, he married Patricia A. LeClair at Chapel in the Garden in Angola, Ind.
David worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company, and later as a realtor. His work took him and Pat to many areas of Michigan; including, Flint, Fenton, Holly, Lake City, and Cadillac. He and Pat retired to Boyne City and have recently lived in Charlevoix.
David loved the Lord, and his family. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and refinishing antiques. He was a beloved member of the Cadillac Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Pamela (Richard) Sutton, David M. (Victoria) Boyer, Jr., Paula (Todd) Olsen, Dawn (Dennis) Patrick, Phillip (Jaquie) Boyer; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Sunday, November 13, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, and continue until the funeral begins at 3:00 pm. Pastor Tom Hubbard will officiate. Interment will be in Beebe Cemetery in Holly.
