Darla Johnson

DARLA J. JOHNSON, 77, of Mancelona, died on Jan. 2, 2010 at her home. Darla was born on May 25, 1932 in Gaylord, the daughter of Arch and Ethel (Martin) Alexander. Darla was a resident of Mancelona most of her life where she spent many years owning and operating the Johnson Adult Foster Care Home. She was a member of the Kalkaska Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed traveling, taking vacations with her family and helping other people. She is survived by a daughter Linda (Chris Garrett) Muma of Mancelona, a son Paul (Missie) Johnson of Mancelona, a brother Rod (Shannon) Alexander, 3 sisters, Irene (Harold) Wildfong, Eunice Fenton, and Dorothy (Robert) Wildfong all of Mancelona, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Johnson, a son Gerald Johnson, 3 brothers, George, Arthur and Willie Alexander, 2 sisters, Olive Hantz, Betty Alexander and her parents. Funeral services will take place on Thur., Jan. 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place on Wed. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home.
