Daniel E. Wagner, 83, of Bellaire, died peacefully at home, Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Detroit the son of Frank and Wanda (Winnicki) Wozniak. Dan graduated from Eastern Michigan University where he met his wife, Elaine (Ringel) Wagner. Elaine and Dan married in 1951, just before he served in the Korean War. After a career in advertising, Dan retired from Young & Rubicam in 1994. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved from Birmingham to Bellaire. They enjoyed traveling, many friendships, and were members of the 1st Congregational Church in Central Lake. Dan also enjoyed playing golf and skiing. Surviving are his children Nancy (Mark) Black of Gilbert, AZ, Reed (Pam) Wagner of Bloomfield Hills, Julie (Matt Howell) Wagner of Franklin, Jane (Bob) Hedges of Grand Rapids, Dan (Maureen) Wagner of Commerce, brother Leonard Wagner, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Elaine, and sister Loretta Suminski. Memorial services and Interment will be held Mon. Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, 1669 W. Maple Rd. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Another memorial service will be held Fri. Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Central Lake. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Central Lake and the Red Cross. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
