Daniel J. Hutterer, 63, of Petoskey passed away on December 30, 2017 at his home.
Daniel was born on December 15, 1954 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Clarence F. and Dorothy (Shimek) Hutterer.
He graduated from Mishicot in 1974. Daniel worked at St. Mary’s Cement Plant for 40 years in many different positions. He enjoyed all the outdoor activities especially hunting and 4-wheeling with his sons and friends.
On October 12, 1991 Daniel married Margaret Hofbauer at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Dylan and Jordan, two sisters, Bonnie (Thomas) Peroutka, Judy (Aloyce) Seidl both of Manitowoc, WI, three brothers, Dale (special friend Ellen) Hutterer of Kellnersville, David and Darrell Hutterer both of Manitowoc, WI, mother-in-law, Mary Hofbauer of Petoskey, sister-in-law, Marilyn Meyers of Petoskey, brothers-in-law, Edward Hofbauer and David (Ann) Hofbauer both of Petoskey along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Ambrose Hofbauer, sister-in-law, Kathleen Hutterer, and brother-in-law, Rod Meyers.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey with Fr. Bradley Nursey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment will take place in spring 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey.
A gathering in Daniel’s memory will be held in Wisconsin at a future date.
