Daniel Bogert

DANIEL P. BOGERT 63, of Mancelona, died on Tues., Nov. 25, 2008 at Charlevoix Area Hospital. Dan was born on Nov. 15, 1945 in Traverse City, the son of Floyd and Margaret (Van Hecke) Bogert. Dan grew up in Mancelona and was a 1964 graduate of Mancelona High School where he excelled in track. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, doing stained glass and taking country rides. He served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. On Nov. 12, 1971 in Fullerton, CA., he marriedMary-Ann Reiss who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Patricia (Greg) Goetz of Clio, Wendy Ruhl of South Carolina, Daniel Jr. Bogert of Mancelona, a sister Gail (Elmer) Orman of Mancelona, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ann Curtis and a brother Jim Bogert. A memorial service will take place on Tues., Dec. 2, 2008 at Two p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Ross Corne will officiate. Visitation will take place from noon until time of services. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Mancelona.
